I heard some of friends around who watched the series, I was told that Season 1 is nicer instead. Sadly, I haven’t got a chance to watch yet (probably during CNY got more time to watch xD), gotta check it out which one nicer 😬
🎥 Q4FY2024 Key Highlights
Netflix released its 4th quarter results for FY2024 this week, reported earnings of $4.27 a share on revenue of $10.25B, surpassed estimates of $4.27 on revenue of $10.13B.
Netflix is a well known world leading entertainment services company, where there are 302 million of worldwide subscribers up to Year 2024. 4th quarter itself added 18.9 million of new users, its over 6% of subscribers growth from 3rd quarter.
Interestingly, there are few famous series, shows and sport events that lead to growth of Netflix in Year 2024:
👉 Squid Game season 2 become Netflix most watched original series seasons
👉 Carry-On on all-time Top 10 films list
👉 Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight became the most-streamed sporting event ever
👉 Two most-streamed NFL games in history on Christmas Day
🎥 FY2025 Forecast
Netflix is expecting their 2025 revenue to hit between $43.5 and $44.5 billion (12% – 14% growth from FY2024), which is $0.5 billion more than what they previously forecasted, while at the same time upping their operating margin forecast to 29% (FY2024 achieved 27%).
One more thing worth to note again that starting from Q1FY2025, Netflix will no longer report their paid memberships and ARM on quarterly basis, will announce just when achieve certain key milestones.
Starting from Q2FY2025, Netflix will publish bi-annual engagement report, which included total watch hours by subscribers, what shows or movies people watched etc.
🎥 My Personal View
Netflix’s subscription growth is the main catalyst for overall financial performance to continue to grow. Secondly is the ad sales, increase in ads sales definitely contribute to B2B operations revenue and profit.
Also, Netflix starts 2025 strong with record growth and leads in engagement, revenue, and profit. With plenty of room to grow in the expanding streaming market, they’re focused on improving content, user experience, and exploring new areas like live programming and games.
Personally I believe Netflix able to continue to grow in FY2025 in term of subscription memberships, where the worldwide entertainment revenue excluding China and Russia around $650 billion and Netflix is capturing only around 6% of the market capitalization.
However, the growth rate might be lower compared to FY2024 due to intensely competitive with many formidable competitors in the market. Any exceeding expectations of financial performance might be a credit to share price performance.
